Starseeds Learning Lab
Starseeds Learning Lab is an innovative learning environment designed for middle-grade students who thrive when learning feels meaningful and connected to real life experiences.
Rooted in research and centered on the whole child, Starseeds blends project-based learning, movement, and strong academic foundations to help students grow as thinkers, creators, and leaders.
As a small, collaborative learning lab, we prioritize belonging, curiosity, character, and confidence—preparing every student to navigate a changing world with skill and purpose.

This year, Starseeds students are launching the Starseeds Learning Garden, a hands-on
capstone project where they will design and build a raised garden box to be permanently
installed at the VCU Mary and Frances Youth Center. Throughout the project, students
apply math, science, reading, and writing in real-world, meaningful ways. They learn soil
science, measurement, design thinking, and tool safety — all directly aligned with
Virginia’s Standards of Learning and brought to life through authentic, project-based
work. Your gift ensures students have the materials, tools, and support needed to bring
this project to life.
